Single Sign-on for NodeSource Certified Modules
Last month, we announced NodeSource Certified Modules. Our goal with Certified Modules is to provide businesses and developers with a secure and reliable source that enables them to take advantage of the massive ecosystem of packages available to Node.js users.
Rolling out features that lower the barrier for everyone is a key part of our goal to continuously improve the experience of working with the Node.js ecosystem.
With that in mind, today we are pleased to announce that NodeSource Certified Modules now comes with Single Sign-on capability. That means that if you have an existing Google or GitHub accounts, you can now use them to sign into NodeSource Certified Modules, allowing quick and easier access to your account.
Round One: GitHub and Google
We chose these initial SSO options with two groups in mind - developers and businesses. GitHub was an easy choice, because the overwhelming majority of code development - and, in turn, module development - is done within the GitHub ecosystem. Google was another easy choice because of the widespread adoption of the Google Suite - with Google as an option for SSO, we can help enable your business to get up and running with Certified Modules quickly and efficiently.
Round Two: SAML for the Enterprise
For enterprises who have existing LDAP or Active Directory based authentication systems, we will be enabling SAML integration in the near future. That would enable enterprise users to be seamlessly authenticated with their corporate identity providers. If you’re interested in SAML integration or other Enterprise-specific features, you can get in touch with us to discuss your specific needs.
What to Expect Next from Certified Modules
On top of SAML authentication, you can expect some new and exciting updates coming soon to the platform that enable collaboration, enhance control over the modules you depend on, and broaden the scope and power of the features that NodeSource Certified Modules already offers. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements, coming soon!
We’ve got just one more thing...
