Since its inception 4 years ago, NodeSource has been dedicated to addressing the needs of the Node.js ecosystem, with a particular focus on helping enterprise deployments at scale. We’ve been honored to have served some of the most progressive deployments of Node.js in the enterprise where it’s providing a mission-critical platform. With a mix of products and services, we take a solutions-centric view to help our customers, wherever they are in their Node.js journey.

A great example of this is a research exercise we conducted to better understand their Node.js adoption, from the very early stages, throughout building, deploying, and running Node.js in production. This helped us better understand not only what they were doing, but who was doing it and where they needed help. A key insight was to focus more on the needs of the individual developer, in multiple stages of the software development life cycle, regardless of whether those developers are part of a large or enterprise organization or part of a smaller team. These insights are the basis of our product direction going forward; today’s release is a strong step toward providing a more cohesive solution to enable a scalable and efficient Node.js experience.

With this release, we offer a mix of product, support, and our unique expertise in an integrated platform offering. We added two new product tiers to complement our current Enterprise plan, with a focus on making the product more accessible. Our free Developer tier makes it easy for individual users to experience the value of NodeSource’s product offerings. Among other benefits, developers can now enjoy better visibility into the performance characteristics (memory, CPU and other system indicators) of their Node.js applications, and enhanced security and package management for smaller projects. The Professional tier extends the capabilities of the Developer tier to meet the needs of small and mid-size teams with team collaboration and more process insights, as well as access to support and predictable pricing to keep your team on track. And all NodeSource users, including our current Enterprise customers, will benefit from a unified account system to manage team members, upgrades and entitlements.

My hope is that this release empowers all our users to get key performance insights offered by N|Solid, enhanced package management with NodeSource Certified Modules, and better answers through access to our team of Node.js experts.
