NodeSource Announces N|Solid for Google Cloud Run on GKE

San Francisco – April 9, 2019 – NodeSource, the Node.js® company, today announced a new offering, making N|Solid available for Google Cloud Run on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

NodeSource’s N|Solid is an enhanced alternative to the open source Node.js runtime. N|Solid offers low-impact monitoring and performance metrics as well as improved security for Node.js applications. Starting today, N|Solid will be available for GKE containers in Google Cloud Run. This new offering allows users to run the N|Solid runtime and console for unparalleled visibility into the performance and behavior of production Node.js applications from within Cloud Run’s GKE environment.

Google Cloud Run provides a simple developer experience for deploying stateless services to your GKE. Cloud Run abstracts away Kubernetes concepts while providing automatic scaling based on HTTP requests, scaling to zero pods, automatic networking, and integration with Google Stackdriver. Running in your cluster enables access to custom machine types, PC/Google Compute Engine networks, and the ability to run side-by-side with other workloads deployed into your cluster. Cloud Run on GKE, based on Knative, provides a consistent experience that enables you to run your serverless workloads anywhere: fully managed on Google Cloud, on GKE, or on your own Kubernetes cluster.

“As enterprises modernize their applications on Google Cloud and embrace best-in-class technologies including Kubernetes and Node.js, to orchestrate their infrastructure, additional security, insights, and metrics are required to balance performance and costs,” said Thomas DeMeo, NodeSource’s CEO. “These mission-critical insights are mandatory to ensure the best customer experience while proactively managing costs."
