Speaker Focus: Trevor Norris on "The Birth and Evolution of Async Hooks" at UtahJS
Last year, Trevor Norris spoke at UtahJS on the Birth and Evolution of Async Hooks. Async Hooks is a feature that–after over three years of development–finally landed in the Node.js 8.x release line, and has now shipped as an LTS feature with Node.js 8 "Carbon" LTS.
In his talk Trevor goes over a few key subjects:

- How the set of "features" for the Async Hooks API was defined
- The trials and tribulations of implementing and landing the features over four years
- The roadblocks and surprises while implementing Async Hooks
