NodeSource Announces $10 Million Series A Funding to Continue Expanding Enterprise Node.js Products, Services, and Support

Today, we are excited to announce that we have secured a $10m Series A funding round led by RRE Ventures, with full participation from early investors Crosslink Capital, and our Angellist Open Source Syndicate to continue to expand our product and service offerings for running server-side JavaScript at scale. The additional financing will allow NodeSource to accelerate its development of products and services for Fortune 500 companies and other leading global corporations who are rapidly adopting Node.js.

Growth of Node.js

We’ve talked about the growth of Node.js quite a bit, and specifically growth in the enterprise. We’ve seen enterprise adoption of JavaScript and Node.js is on a steep growth curve – up 375% year over year – which is critical to the long-term health, predictability and viability of the ecosystem.

NodeSource team members work full-time on Node.js, guiding and contributing to its continued success. A deep commitment to Node.js through active contribution and unwavering leadership ensures quality from the core (Node.js) to our own product (N|Solid). This investment will help us to develop the products and support models Enterprises demand for open source technologies while continuing to expand the adoption of Node.js itself.

Growth of NodeSource

Since raising a $3.4M seed round last year, our customer base has grown 121% with customers that include NASA, HomeAway, Condé Nast, and Craftsy to name a few.

In addition to our growing customer base, we recently announced a partnership with Google to offer N|Solid on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) making N|Solid the enterprise solution for running Node.js applications on GCP.
