EnterpriseJS Speaker Spotlight - Justin Lowery of PayPal
What is EnterpriseJS?
EnterpriseJS is a community focused on sharing experiences of implementing production systems at a massive scale with technologies like Node.js, JavaScript, and the modern stack at the core in the Enterprise.
The very first EnterpriseJS was nearly two years ago and launched in Austin, Texas. Enterprise JavaScript has grown significantly since then and it’s time to gather once again to share experiences. What has worked? What didn’t? How can do continue to innovate and keep the pace of Node.js, while ensuring the reliability necessary to protect mission critical services?
Introducing Justin Lowery of PayPal
Justin got started at the turn of the century as a print designer with an interest in designing websites. This desire led Justin down the long journey of self-education in web development. Early on, this was the HTML, CSS, and PHP stack - eventually, jQuery removed the pain and eased Justin into learning JavaScript. With the release and growth of Node, Justin’s love for JavaScript was sealed, and this journey brought him to his current role as the tech lead for PayPal’s "Consumer Web" organization.
At EnterpriseJS, Justin will be talking about how achieving true universality (aka isomorphism) in real-world, complex web-applications is hard, but worth the investment. His talk will focus on what the team at PayPal learned building their first, fully universal application, and the technology they chose to unlock this potential. There will be code examples and advanced topics including: universal application design, unidirectional execution, functional programming, asynchronous and synchronous code, so don't forget your thinking caps!
Don’t miss this talk and opportunity to connect with Justin and the rest of the team at PayPal. Use the code THANKYOUPAYPAL for a 50% discount. Space is extremely limited. Sign-up now to make sure you reserve your spot.
